I thought the difficult part of my dissertation would be the research and writing, but honestly, choosing from different engineering dissertation topics felt like the bigger challenge. There were so many directions to go — renewable energy, structural design, artificial intelligence, construction technology, and countless others. The more I searched, the more undecided I became.
What eventually helped me was focusing on topics that genuinely interested me rather than picking something just because it sounded impressive. I realized that you spend a lot of time researching one subject, so choosing something you actually enjoy can make the entire process much easier and far more interesting.
